Foundation Christmas Auction Raises More Than $4,000
December 6, 2011
The Foundation, the fundraising arm of Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, raised $4,235 at its 8th annual Mingle and Jingle Christmas auction Monday night. The Foundation supports the growing healthcare needs of the people of Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.
"Up for auction were 17 fully decorated Christmas trees, two wreaths, a set of topiaries, three centerpieces and a burlap door ornament donated by local organizations, individuals, businesses, schools and hospital departments. High bidders won the item along with delivery to their home or business of choice. The event is one-of-a-kind and we hope that families make it priority to attend year after year to kick off the holiday season" Shane Carter, Vice President for Institutional Advancement said.
The proceeds from the auction will help with continued patient room renovations within the medical center. The AMMC Foundation works to raise funds to support and strengthen Arkansas Methodist Medical Center’s efforts in the areas of financial development, the quality delivery of healthcare and greater public awareness through education and community relations. The Foundation was formed in 1992, by a group of dedicated, community-minded individuals to provide a means of philanthropic support to meet the present and future needs of the medical center.
