AMMC Hosts Home for the Holidays Cooking Show 2013

Arkansas Methodist Medical Center will host the Home for the Holidays Cooking Show to benefit its Community Diabetes Program at the Paragould Community Center gymnasium Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Doors open at 5:30 pm allowing guests to visit 25 vendors and the cooking show will start at 6:30 pm.
Cooking segments will be presented by local restaurateurs featuring holiday dishes. Matt Bearden, Executive Chef with Skinny J’s, will prepare a fried ahi tuna appetizer; AMMC’s Certified Diabetes Educator Pat Malone, RN, will prepare crown roast of pork with sourdough stuffing made with butternut squash, apples and toasted pecans and Tracy Mothershed with Something Sweet will prepare an apple caramel cake. Light refreshments will be served. Audience members will receive a recipe booklet and will also have the opportunity to win door prizes, including pre-prepared portions of the dishes presented at the show. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and may be purchased by calling (870) 239-7077.
Proceeds from the Home for the Holidays Cooking Show will benefit AMMC’s Community Diabetes Programs. The programs are offered every other month and include an educational presentation as well as a mini-cooking show hosted by Pat Malone, RN, Certified Diabetes Educator and the AMMC Education Department.
