Comprehensive acute inpatient physical rehabilitation services for adults are available at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. AMMC's Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility is honored to serve hundreds of individuals each year helping the recover from loss in function, safety, independence and quality of living due to illness, injury or surgery.

As a full service hospital based inpatient rehab unit, lab, x-ray, telemetry, hemodialysis and various medical specialities are readily available within the medical center. We are also able to provide 24/7 emergency response team and physician coverage in the event of an emergency.

Our 15-participant maximum capacity facility promotes a highly personalized recovery environment for everyone involved. Additionally, our multidisciplinary team of rehab experts (Two Physical Therapists, One Occupational Therapist, One Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, One Speech Language Pathologist, One Social Worker and Two Clinical Liaisons) will perform an individualized assessment followed by outstanding care delivery. This approach generates key performance outcomes that consistently meet or exceed national averages.

The two accrediting bodies are considered the gold standard for hospitals and acute rehabilitation facilities. Our rehab unit is also distinguished in serving exclusively as the region's only CARF accredited Stroke Specialty Program. This designation constitutes a separate review and is awarded in recognition of the quality, commitment and outcomes in the terms of delivery of comprehensive stroke recovery and stroke prevention.

Admission Requirements 
AMMC wants to ensure all patients meet our specific admissions criteria for inpatient rehabilitation programs. Prospective inpatient rehabilitation patients must:

  • Requires an interdisciplinary team approach to the delivery of care
  • Require daily access to a physician to oversee medical and rehab needs
  • Require a minimum of two types of therapy
  • Be able to tolerate a level of intense therapy - minimum of three hours daily, five days per week
  • Achieve rehabilitation goals in a reasonable period of time
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Pay with Medicare, select HMOs and/or private pay
  • Can be admitted from physician's office, hospital, ER or home
