Women's Council

The purpose of the Women's Council is to raise awareness of Arkansas Methodist Medical Center and its services and to promote the mission of The Foundation in supporting the medical center.

The first event hosted by the Women's Council was the Think Pink Luncheon in October of 2008. Arkansas' First Lady, Ginger Beebe, was the keynote speaker. Sherrye McBryde of the Komen Foundation also spoke to the crowd of over 300 people about breast health issues.

In 2010, the Women's Council decided to host an annual Celebrating the Spirit of Women event to honor a local person for their service to issues affecting women and children. Mary Esther Herget was the first recipient of this prestigious award. The Women's Council also invited Beth Holloway, mother of missing Alabama teenager Natalee Hollow. Ms. Holloway presented "Victim to Victor," her story of survival and faith to a crowd of 250 people.
