These individuals were chosen from among 700 employees for the honor.
Employee and Manager of the Year are nominated for the award by their hospital peers, based on setting the standard for excellence by exemplifying AMMC’s four pillars – People, Service, Quality and Growth. The GEM award is presented to an AMMC employee who provides time, talent and leadership and will “Go the Extra Mile” to further the mission and exceed goals of the AMMC Foundation.
Carol Staggs has worked for AMMC for almost 47 years and began her career as a Candy Striper. When a position opened for on-the-job training as a Histotechnician she applied and was accepted for the position. She has stayed in the Pathology Lab since and currently holds the position of Histology Supervisor. She wants to make patients and visitors feel comfortable and welcomed.
Amanda Holmes has worked for AMMC for 23 years. She holds the position of Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Case Management and Clinical Documentation Integrity. Amanda wanted a meaningful career that would allow her to serve her community and family, and her nursing career at AMMC has given her that opportunity.
