Arkansas Methodist Medical Center (AMMC) has named Holly Copeland as 2022 Employee of the Year, and Yong Ko as 2022 Manager of the Year.  Thomas Hancock received the GEM (Going the Extra Mile) award from the AMMC Foundation. These awards are the highest honors bestowed on a hospital employee each year. These individuals were chosen from among 600 employees for the honor.

Employee and Manager of the Year are nominated for the award by their hospital peers, based on setting the standard for excellence by exemplifying AMMC’s four pillars – People, Service, Quality and Growth.  The GEM award is presented to an AMMC employee who provides time, talent and leadership and will “Go the Extra Mile” to further the mission and exceed goals of the AMMC Foundation.

Holly Copeland has worked for AMMC for 26 years as a respiratory therapist.  She is the assistant director of the AMMC Cardiopulmonary Department. Holly has spent most of her adult life working at AMMC and considers it her second home.  Holly likes the small family-atmosphere and enjoys working with everyone at AMMC. She enjoys learning and helping others through AMMC and feels blessed to be a part of this hospital and community.

Yong Ko started his career at AMMC in 2007. He has been a respiratory therapist for over 16 years and is the director of the AMMC Cardiopulmonary Department. Yong loves to help people and is always looking for ways to improve patient care and treatments.  He has been successful in reopening the Cardiac Rehab and Pulmonary Rehab programs.  Yong is committed to AMMC and wants to continue his career helping AMMC and our community. 

Thomas Hancock began working in the AMMC Engineering Department in 2000.  He loves his AMMC family and is supportive of the AMMC Foundation’s employee GIVE program and Benevolence Fund. Thomas considers every employee at AMMC family and is a friend to everyone he meets.  Thomas always has a smile on his face and is very deserving of this year’s GEM award
