Home | News | David Eubanks awarded the Q3 2023 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

Congratulations to David Eubanks, MSN, RN who was awarded the 3rd quarter, 2023 Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses at AMMC! The award is part of The Daisy Foundation’s mission to recognize nurses for the extraordinary care and compassion they provide patients and families every day. The Daisy Award is awarded quarterly to an AMMC nurse in deep appreciation and admiration of compassionate care. David was nominated by a grateful family member who experienced his kind, caring, and compassionate approach firsthand. The family member expressed their deep appreciation for David's efforts in ensuring their loved ones' comfort and providing them with regular updates on their loved one's care.

The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes.  Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease.  The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.

The Daisy Award is awarded quarterly to an AMMC nurse in deep appreciation and admiration of compassionate care.  Nurses may be nominated by patients, families and colleagues, and they are anonymously chosen by a committee of AMMC employees.  Awards are given throughout the year at presentations, in front of the nurse’s colleagues, physicians, patients and guests. Felicia was nominated by a patient for her bedside manner and compassionate care.
